Whether you are new to the Hemp Extract product community or a veteran, we, at Aktive, know how concerning it is traveling with Hemp Extract products! Since your products are important to you, we know you want them to make it to your destination with you. So, here is everything we know about Hemp Extract products and airport security.

Step 1: Know Your Hemp Extract Product

The first step in traveling with Hemp Extract is knowing your product! This is important because products that have a higher dosage of THC, for example, is possible to travel with, if you have a doctor’s prescription, according to the TSA instructions. Other products are quite a bit more complicated! Whether a product is made from THC or Hemp Extract can make a big difference. As stated in this article, hemp-derived products are federally legal, but products that have over 0.3% THC are not. The line between hemp-derived and not is very thin so make sure you know what your product contains!

Step 2: Know the Percentage of THC in Your Product

The next step is knowing how much THC is in your product. All of the Aktive products follow the government stated percentage, so check and make sure there is less than 0.3% THC in your Hemp Extract product. The TSA regulation states that if you wish to fly with a Hemp Extract product, it must contain no more than 0.3% THC. What does that mean? That it is very easy to cross the line into too much THC in your product which could result in repercussions.

Step 3: Know the TSA Regulations

Finally, before you travel with hemp-derived extract, be sure to read up on the TSA regulations! If you wish to travel with Hemp Extract, there is a decent chance that you will not get your product taken away at the security checkpoint. If you have any hesitations with traveling with Hemp Extract, it is best to leave your products home for the weekend. The transportation security administration regulation states that “products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis” should be cleared but “the final decision rests with the TSA officials on whether or not a product can pass through security”.

Rules and regulations continue to change on a monthly basis, so it is important to check the TSA website before you travel. To shop all Aktive products, view our product page and see what best fits your lifestyle.
